Joel calls it “Duck Tape Programmer” — but I don’t think I like the term. “Practical programmer” is better. And we need more of them.

    I agree to the idea of practical programming. Sometimes you can overorganize a project so much that you burn most of the time just setting up the object hierarchy until you’re blue in the face.
