Instructs the student in the legal relationship of the physician, patient, and medical assistant; professional liabilities, Medical Practice Acts, professional attitudes and behavior and the types of medical practice. Also includes a basic history of medicine. Lecture 2 hours per week. | |
MDA 231 Clinical Procedures I |

Instructs the student in the practice of assisting the physician with patient care in the medical office. Procedures include vital signs, sterile techniques, examination procedures, care of equipment and supplies, electrocardiographic and radiographic procedures, pharmacology, medication and injection administration, and professional ethics. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week. |
