This program is designed for those students who for personal or financial reasons cannot travel to Weyers Cave for the residential program. Courses will be interactive, two-way audio and video, transmitted over the VCCS Compressed Video Net work. This program begins August of 1997 with courses transmitted to the Virginia Beach campus of Tidewater Community College. The following courses will be transmitted: AGR 235, VET 100, VET 105, VET 111, VET 115, VET 121, VET 216, VET 210, VET 215, VET 217, VET 221, VET 222, VET 230, and VET 240. These courses may be completed elsewhere: MTH 126, ENG 137 or ENG 111, STD 100, CHM 110, HUM 201/2, HLT/PED*, and PSY 105. * Students must be take one course that includes CPR or have CPR certification. Applicants must: Have completed or are in the process of completing the general education courses required for the Associate in Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Work with a veterinarian willing to provide supervision and practicing of the tasks taught in the various courses. Be committed to enrolling in all the courses for this program as they are offered. The distance learning program has limited space and students will be selected on a competitive basis. An interview will be required. |
